3) Enable the “Content Restriction” by Taxonomies

About Term Rule

  • The term access rule will be applied to posts connected to the term, not to the term itself.
  • This means you can apply rules to all posts connected to this term at once, rather than individually.

Content Restriction Methods

You can enable/disable content restriction methods one by one.

Redirect to to Login Page method is enabled by default.

Default Restriction Message

You can set default restriction message for ‘Show Restriction Message’ and ‘Show the Excerpt and Restriction Message’ method.

Post Configuration

You can control post content restriction one by one. (Only for selected post types in global settings)

Go to post edit screen and you can see the meta box called ‘Content Restriction Rule’ bottom of screen.

Allow Access

There’s four conditions for set who can see the content.

  1. Everyone
  2. Logged in Users
  3. Logged in Users with Specific Roles
  4. Logged Out Users

1) Everyone

There’s no limit to view the content.

2) Logged in Users

All logged-in users can see the content regardless of user role.

3) Logged in Users with Specific Roles

User must be logged in and has specific role selected.

4) Logged out Users

Users who logged in cannot see the content.

Content Restriction Method

Select ‘What happens when users without access try to view the post?’

There’s maximum four methods if you enabled all methods from global settings.

1) Redirect to the Login Page

All restricted users redirected to default login page of Advanced Members and back to the post after successful login.

2) Redirect to custom URL

All restricted users redirected to custom URL you set.

3) Show Restriction Message

All restricted users see the ‘Restriction Message’ set from global settings instead of the content.

You can also set ‘custom restriction message’ for the post only.

4) Show the Excerpt and Restriction Message

Same as ‘Show Restriction Message’ method but display ‘Excerpt’ before the message.

Term Configuration

You can set post content restriction rule by connected terms to those posts.

Go to edit taxonomy term screen which you’ve selected on global settings.

And you can see the ‘Content Restriction Rule’ meta box.

How ‘Allow Access’ and ‘Restriction Method’ rule working is same as ‘Post Configuration’.

  • The term access rule will be applied to posts connected to the term, not to the term itself.
  • This means you can apply rules to all posts connected to this term at once, rather than individually.
